For once this is not a birding related post. Calsoft my company had organised an overnighter to Naagav near Alibaug.
In typical Calsoft fashion, we started out @ 8:30 am after 6:00 am being the decided departure time. There were two buses and if you diff'd them the result would have been booze ... lots of it :) ...
Well we were not on the booze bus and had to employ other means of entertainment. (Raunchy) Songs were sung, folks were beaten up (???) and all manner of behaviour ensued which would hardly be called civil. Anyways, (some) people did reach Naagav in one piece.
We "landed" at a place called "Shintrewadi" where the bags were dumped and the shore nearby was made for with haste. Some frolic in the water and we had a (meagre) lunch.
We were then allocated small cottages with 7-8 people in one. We got a wonderful one complete with its own sitout with a swing, some hammocks and yes a barbeque grill :) !!!
We were delighted with the nice accomodation & dumped our stuff and enjoyed the hammocks & swings.
Later in the afternoon we went to the beach again and stayed there till sunset.

We made a mermaid out of sand on the beach and had a fun time doing it :). The sunset was spectacular and I got some real good snaps :) ...
We then decided on putting the barbeque grill to good use and bought some chicken, veggies and stuff for the marinade. The coal, kerosene was provided by our landlord. We marinated the stuff and kept it while we had dinner. After dinner a campfire was planned. But it was taking some time in getting the people and the logs fired up. So we decided to get our barbeque done by then.
It certainly was a huge success and the chicken tasted heavenly :). We also had ordered beer to which only Saurabh and me did any justice.
Later, we decided to move on to the beach and have the remnant (booze) there. On the way to the beach, we were accosted @ the campfire and I literally had to whistle my way through :).
Once we reached the beach though it was fun. The sky was starlit and the sound of the waves was very soothing. All this had a very deep effect on Saurabh who suddenly found his voice and sang ( bellowed may be ? ) modified versions of all songs @ the top of his voice. Not satisfied @ that he went on to perform the initial steps of "Mar Daala". We then realised why his "spirits were so high" :P. We then had a long walk up and down the beach after which we retired to bed.
In the morning after freshning up we went to the beach again, where people indulged in fuzBall, Cricket, Horse Riding etc. I to my delight found that the folks had arranged for kites. I flew one for a long time and then later joined my folks for a boat ride with the local fishermen. The boat could take only a few of us and since I boarded the last I had to get out :(. As luck would have it, no sooner than the boat was about 10 metres inside, it capsized and all the guys were drenched :D.
We walked back and had lunch. Thereafter it was not much of a return trip. Folks in our bus danced in the aisle for sometime and we reached Calsoft @ around 8:30 pm.
The trip was short, simple & a lot of fun. I hope we see many more such outings in the future.
